We are a small, very friendly and supportive choir and are always looking for new members.
We offer a slightly different experience from most local choirs because of our repertoire, usually performed with little or no accompaniment, so we have to work extra hard on ensemble, style and interpretation. Our musical director, Roderick Earle, has enjoyed an international career as a singer and is a singing professor at the Royal College of Music and teaches the Choral Scholars at Trinity College, Cambridge. Every rehearsal is like a lesson with one of the top professionals in the country.
We need singers with clear voices, good musicianship and a fine sense of tuning, who are passionate about our kind of music and are prepared to attend regular rehearsals in Colchester. You will need to be auditioned but we try to make this as painless as possible. If you would like to find out more please contact Roderick at: firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are aged 17 – 25 you could be eligible for our Choral Apprenticeship Scheme which offers financial support and one-to-one mentoring. Our apprentices have gone on to win music festivals, choral scholarships and places at prestigious universities, and proudly attest that they owe their success to the experience and confidence they have developed singing with the choir.
